A massive brawl broke out among Carnival cruise passengers following their arrival at a Galveston, Texas terminal. The altercation, which occurred on April 26, 2025, resulted in 24 people being added to the “Do Not Sail” list, a list for passengers banned from future cruises with the line. This latest incident has stirred reactions from both cruise fans and industry observers.
The Incident at Galveston Cruise Terminal
The fight took place shortly after passengers disembarked from a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Jubilee. As travelers entered the terminal, a large altercation broke out. Video footage posted on social media shows passengers punching and kicking another passenger while causing chaos in the baggage claim area.
Security personnel quickly intervened, but the brawl continued despite their efforts. The footage shows the crowd breaking barriers, knocking down signs, and tackling one of the individuals involved in the altercation. While some passengers watched in shock, others filmed the incident.
Carnival’s Response to the Brawl
In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that 24 passengers involved in the brawl were placed on the company’s “Do Not Sail” list. The company also issued a statement saying they would not tolerate such behavior.
“The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. The matter was turned over to law enforcement,” the statement read. “We will not tolerate such behavior, and 24 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail list.”
Past Incidents and the Ongoing Issue of Brawls on Cruise Ships
This isn’t the first time a violent altercation has occurred aboard a Carnival cruise. Up to 60 people were involved in a huge fight that started on the Carnival Magic dance floor in June 2022. Following a Coast Guard escort following the disturbance, passengers were safely departed.
Large cruise ships, which sometimes accommodate hundreds or even thousands of passengers, are the subject of these occurrences, which raise concerns about passenger conduct and safety.
Carnival’s Ongoing Commitment to Security
Carnival Cruise Line is still dedicated to giving its customers a fun and safe holiday in spite of this most recent dispute. The business is committed to stopping violence and making sure that disruptive conduct is dealt with right away.
