On the most recent edition of Celebrity Jeopardy!, Natalie Morales makes the humorous mistake of forgetting the name of her close friend, actor Sterling K. Brown. Viewers are in stitches at the popular game show’s stressful moment when the slip-up occurs.
A Forgetful Moment Under Pressure
In an exclusive sneak peek shared by TV Insider, the episode’s $300 clue in the category “Podcasts About TV Shows” stumps all three contestants—Morales, Corbin Bleu, and Chris Distefano. The clue read: “‘That Was Us,’ a podcast about This Is Us, is cohosted by this actor, who played Randall Pearson,” with a picture of the Emmy-winning actor Sterling K. Brown.
Morales, visibly flustered, says under her breath, “Oh my God, I know him. I know him.” As the timer runs out, she still can’t recall his name. The audience watches as the moment becomes even more awkward.
A Jolly Apology
In response to presenter Ken Jennings’s questioning, Morales acknowledges, “I’m acquainted with him, and my mind just went utterly blank… I apologize, Sterling. I apologize so much! Given that even celebrities may falter under duress, the gaffe is both humorous and realistic.
Jennings acknowledges the strong mood on the show and swiftly defends her. He assures Morales and the audience that even the greatest among us make errors, saying, “It’s very tense up here.”
Worthless Causes at Risk
Morales is vying for a $1 million reward to support Happy Trails for Kids, her charity of choice, in this show, which is the fifth quarterfinal round of the Celebrity Jeopardy! season. Bleu is performing for the Entertainment Community Fund in the interim.
